I had it at Sardi’s in NYC on NYE in 1995, and it was amazing but I was also drunk and everything that night seemed amazing. I do recall reading in a recent post on this sub that someone had it in DeShantz’s Rib Room and I seem to recall they also enjoyed it there.

Whatever you do, do not get fooled by Acorn's version. I got it there (without reading the fine print on the menu) only to find some ice cream on top of some sort of pastry shell. I was then informed that it was a "deconstructed" interpretation of the dish....

Not really that complicated to make, especially if you buy the cake. Off the top of my head, though, I know the LeMont and Rib Room (located inside Meat and Potatoes) have baked alaska. Would avoid the LeMont, can't speak to Rib Room, but it looks very impressive (they set liquor on fire and pour it over the baked alaska tableside).
