So the South Hills Village Eat N Park says they don’t do grilled stickies a la mode anymore. Is this true, and should I, like, call the police or something?

It’s really one of their main staples. How can they do this?

I remember when they stopped doing cinnamon rolls and you could ONLY get the honeybuns.

And now they don't even do the honeybuns.

Help, I got old and sad.

😂 Congrats on reaching the pinnacle of Yinzerism. The most elite among us are the ones who pine for the things that used to be here before that other thing that used to be here.

And use landmarks as directions that haven't been there for 20+ years.

Eat n Park’s menu has shrunk so much, and being an ancient yinzer at 32, I’m over it, dammit.

Remember when a meal was under 5 bucks with a tip and you could chief down a whole pack of lung darts while you ate it?

They have been off of the menu at all Eat N Park’s for a while.

I miss brown bread, remember that? My sister loved the stickies and yes... gone a while now

The brown bread was so GOOD, but my weakness was the hash brown patties. Also gone from the menu. Those mini abominations are not the same.

I never tried the hash browns. They used to make fantastic pies, but I don't think that they are as good these days. It could be me, it seems that many things in many places just aren't the same lately.

Eat N Parks days are numbered imo. Not just bc of this but their demographic is slowly but surely dying off in addition to cost cutting moves like removing their staples.

Don’t be surprised when it’s just a smiley cookie manufacturing company in a decade.

Have you been injured by menu choices at a local family restaurant? We can get you the maximum damages the law allows. We won $36,000 for our clients and got the Frownie back. Call Berger and Green, 999-2626.

Yeah, I went to the Banksville location - first time I'd been to an EnP since 2019. Went for two reasons - I wanted some salad bar, and I wanted grilled stickies.

Salad bar was sadly pretty unfulfilling, and then they didn't have the stickies.

A day or two later, they popped up on my FYP on TikTok, so I asked them what was up. Evidently their supplier shut down, so they can't get them anymore. But they're trying to come up with another vendor.

In the meantime, if you're really jonesing: https://www.grilledstickies.com/store/p3/Plain_Grilled_Stickies_-_6_Pack.html

They arent on the menu online either. I'm genuinely devastated

I asked on facebook. They said the bakery they partnered with closed and to try something new while they find replacement options

Their baked goods suck now, barely exist.

They fucked up their cheese sticks.

The Bridgeville location’s salad bar had been closed for so long and when we asked why, the server said the restaurant is due for a remodel and they won’t reopen the salad bar until after that.

Lack of grilled stickies + crappy cheese sticks + no salad bar are the reasons why my family sees no reason to eat there any more. My kids used to beg to go there at least once a week.

The change in the cheese sticks is inexcusable.

You can probably make it at home with little effort. Some premade sticky buns to bake, some ice cream. Boom!

The last time I went to EnP they made me a milkshake with the netting that milk jugs or something came from and blended it right into the shake. So I took like a swig and i got a mouth full for shredded plastic. I haven't been back since. That was at least a decade ago.

kniki217 t1_j9nkw1b wrote

No one wants to make it themselves. It defeats the purpose.

CL-MotoTech t1_j9obq42 wrote

Then it sounds like you’ll never have it again.

Is there a business idea in here somewhere? Like a restaurant/diner that serves all the things pittsburghers remember at a decent price no frills not some yuppie bullshit catering to loft people but just a straight up good diner with kings eatnpark etc good stuff?

44problems t1_j9pdinj wrote

If eat n park and kings and all the little diners that now close at 3pm can't make it work why would a new business be able to succeed? Sadly these places just aren't surviving.

I remember going there super late just for cinnamon buns and grilled stickies. The server was always cool about it and I’d tip 10 for their time
