Okay so for context I’m a broke college student who needs a device with a webcam for an upcoming exam and am looking to cut costs. I checked my local library to see if I can rent one, they did not have any, but said to maybe try other libraries. Does anyone have any idea if their local library has laptops that can be borrowed or anything of the sort?

Thanks for bearing with me

Your college should be able to lend you one. Let your professor know the situation and ask them who you should contact. Could be a library, IT, classroom services, or your professor's department may have loaners.

The Western Allegheny Community Library has one, and other libraries definitely have ways that they may be able to help you. Which one did you ask at? I'm surprised they didn't help you find this.

It's also worth trying your local Buy Nothing group or other social media circles.

What college are you attending? Many have loaner technology for students available, including webcams (source: I work at a college in an area that provides exactly this service)

I assume that means they want to make sure if they go out of their way to pick one up from a library that it will actually be there to rent at that time.

Nah. I’m guessing ESL, because nobody talks like that, and the word itself doesn’t make any sense in that context.
