I saw some of your photos of abandoned places - I have a friend who travels 'round and does similar, I can DM you his Instagram if you'd like to check it out! I'd also love to go thrifting sometime - my boyfriend hates shopping and I hate being alone so it would be awesome to find someone who enjoys it

Heck yeah! I like friends and old Pyrex. This sounds perfect! We can talk about our love of Bison dip and how Anchor Bar is trash.

Welcome to Pittsburgh. When it warms up a little I go walking the Montour trail often, you can tag along if you want.

Hello Buffalo native. Have you ever been to Griffis Sculpture Park near Springville? Also, take a break bar in Lawrenceville is a good dive to meet people. It’s a smoking bar though.

I’d recommend checking out Prototype PGH! We host a zine workshop, a crafting group, songwriting meetup, code & coffee, and a bunch of workshops on laser cutting, 3d printing, screen-printing, and more. I host the songwriting and coding meetups :)

Is this for women only? I read through it, seemed to be geared toward that.

j_dotwhatup t1_jbhgpwz wrote

Its mission is to build gender and racial equity in tech and entrepreneurship, but it’s not a women only space. Would definitely recommend checking it out!

Hey Mario's in shadyside is a Bills backers bar. Go Bills!

There's a surprising number of Bills fans here I've been discovering. My gf is a Bills fan and during football season she goes to Mario's when she can for the games. It's just a sea of red and blue.

Personally, I'm a transplant who was waiting for the chance to root for the Steelers once they got rid of Ben at QB. Hope they do well with Kenny!! But no matter what, go Bills!

We have lots of great third spaces where folks get together! I teach adult maker classes and always suggest adults take a class to meet people! My faves are Workshop PGH and Prototype for all kinds of creative skills. Eastern Standard Photo also does film photography workshops.

First Fridays in Garfield are really fun and there are lots of art galleries on Penn Ave that are great to check out. Especially once the weather gets warm, Penn gets bumping!

One thing that hasn’t been mentioned yet but is definitely worth a few hours of your time is Bicycle Heaven. It’s a Bike museum on the North Side and it has so many weird, wonderful and valuable bikes in its collection (including a certain MacGuffin that was once thought to reside in the basement of the Alamo).
