Without saying too much to maintain some anonymity, I know some people with very very close history with this guy. He's every bit of a bad person as this all makes him look.

This guy cold called me last summer about working for one of his supposed clients (directly reporting to the CTO of fintech startup based in Fox Chapel, I think). The later part of the 20 minute conversation smacked of some form of selling/posturing via self-glorification. It was hard to get off the phone with him.
