I think the safety margin in humans is much greater given the large uncontrolled trial going on in Philly. I do think the sleeping for 24+ hours with it can be dangerous if you're exposed to the elements or not eating but it doesn't seem like it kills humans. And I'm assuming people are just shooting themselves up with massive doses.

It probably is safer for humans, i know with small animals a small error in calculations can be deadly pretty quickly.
