Hi everyone,

My husband and I are moving to Pittsburgh in a little while and are planning a weekend trip to check out some apartments - we were thinking of April 7th-9th but recognise that this coincides with Easter... is Pittsburgh somewhere that tends to close down at Easter or will most stuff still be open?

Cheers!

Mediterranean places will also generally be open, as their proprietors will either be Orthodox (so it will be Palm Sunday) or Islamic.

The snow dome seals itself shut for 24 hours on Easter so if you're not inside by then you can't get in.

You forgot about telling her about the children with ak-47's that are out to avenge their parents in the orphanages. Those are the fuckers you need to watch out for.

Tunnels, Highways and most everything will be open. Christmas will be a different story.

A ton of places will be open. I don’t think easter is as big of a deal here but I could be wrong lol. I’ve never encountered major closures or anything but that’s just my experience here.

Nah it's closed, roadblocks are up, it's purge type environment during "Easter activities".

But seriously, it's fucking Easter dude, what do you think is happening here? Children with full auto weaponry? Easter bunny coming in hot planting eggs for kids to find that are actually claymore mines? WHAT DO YOU THINK IS HAPPENING ON EASTER????

I can't handle more idiots in this town. Please don't come here.

They think that a lot of stores and restaurants might be closed due to a federal/bank holiday. It’s not a crazy thought, since, historically, a lot of stores and restaurants close for Easter.

Hmmmm. Where I come from and where I currently live a lot of stuff keeps weird hours and stuff because of Easter. Thought I’d check. Also PA has super-weird laws about stuff like alcohol so figured they might have some other weird laws.

Anyway, thanks for the warm welcome. Prick.

Telling Pittsburghers how things work “where I come from” while asking them for information is going to work out great for you guys. Good luck!
