It really was. Both The Vindys and The Clarks was awesome (no surprise about The Clarks but I'd never heard of The Vindys before), and Donnie and The Cruisers sounded like it was 1985 in terms of quality. Donnie puts people have his age to shame with his vocal strength and athletic ability on stage. They played a really amazing version of Ah, Leah! that started slow and gave you goosebumps, then launched into the classic we all know and love. When Scott from The Clarks and the singer from The Vindys joined Donnie on stage after we thought the set was over, they did several amazing covers including Gimme Shelter. My expectations were grossly exceeded. Seriously.

Woohoo! I'd love if they made this a yearly thing. So much fun. Glad you enjoyed too!

Did you like the opener? The Vindy's are a favorite of ours.

I did! I do feel like the acoustics in UPMC Event Center did them (and all of the acts, honestly) a disservice as a lot of the music and vocals had a tinny quality to it but I got used to it. The Vindys singer is an absolute powerhouse! She performed alongside Donnie and Scott from The Clarks for Gimme Shelter and With A Little Help From My Friends for the finale of the evening. So damn solid.
