Got an email today about Kennywood’s bag policy being 12x12x12 now instead of a tiny purse barely big enough to hold my wallet and keys. Glad they made it more reasonable but still small if you pack food and drinks.

Per their website:

In order to streamline our screening process at the Main Gate and for the safety of our guests and team members, Kennywood allows one personal bag or soft cooler with a maximum size of 12” x 12” x 12” into the park and all food and beverages must fit within the bag size. No alcohol or glass containers will be permitted.

I've got a 12" cube cooler and my wife and older two kids and I can pack lunch for everyone in there pretty easily. Might need a second one for drinks but I feel like it's plenty of space for a single person.

That said, if you go multiple times or go on really hot days those refill cups are terrific and alleviate needing to bring water. Got them with our season passes last year and it was much better than our usual lugging around a dozen water bottles in the stroller.

Did they change the policy after the safety incidents last year? Because I know in the spring I took a full size drawstring bag.

UGH. So no more backpacks? That sucks. We always load two backpacks up with waters and Gatorades to get use through the day, and we use the backpacks to put stuff in like hats and glasses when we go on rides that you are required to remove them. I guess maybe those drawstring bags my kids like will work?

Unless you can find a tiny backpack? But at that point, a drawstring bag might give you more room anyway.

My daughter has a couple of those small backpacks that would work, I think.
