That’s all I wanted to say. I know it’s been discussed before. It just feels like it’s worse than ever. Everywhere I drive looks disgusting. I realize it’s a complex problem, and often not prioritized. What can I do as one person to try to make a difference? I love PGH, and I want it to be beautiful.
Edit- thanks to everyone who suggested the Allegheny clean ways or friends of the river front! I requested littler pick up kits for my whole family!
To all of those that tell me to get off my ass, stop complaining, and pick up the trash: wow! So helpful! I never for the life of me ever thought to pick up the trash I see that’s bothering me in my neighborhood /s I actually do already do that believe it or not!
I think I’m more so frustrated with how it all ends up there in the first place. We’ve all seen people have blatant disregard for their environment, we’ve all seen the bags get ripped open and trash fly everywhere, and we’ve all seen the hillsides and highways covered in trash. There is NO priority set by officials to kee the city or its roadways clean. No one really PuT that there, but it blew there and now it’s just looking ugly and sad. We’re all annoyed with how much packaging things come with.
I was just really upset about how damn ugly it looks out there right now and I guess I wanted to commiserate with some fellow pittsburghers.
