So, my wife and I go out for wings weekly after work. We alternate between a couple of places. Until last week, it was Wings, Suds & Spuds alternating with QSL in Robinson. Well QSL suddenly (even to their management) shut down last week, as the building was sold.
Looking for suggestions in the Moon/Robinson area with good wings to take home after a couple of drinks while waiting for our order to be ready.
Amaze me. Please.
Didn't even think of the Hangar. For some reason, I almost never do, no matter what I'm trying to think of.
a stretch, but Bigham Tavern on Mt Wash can be pretty good. next time you are in town and want some of the best around, tho, go to Wm Penn Tavern (now in Lawrenceville)
Lol I forget that place even exists until I'm heading down Flaugherty Run to go someplace. Is it any good?
The Steel Shaker and the Jailhouse in Coraopolis have okay wings. The Jailhouse is just a pretty entertaining environment if you and your wife are into people-watching and/or dive bars.
My personal favorite, though it’s a bit of a trek for you, is Sidelines in Millvale. Their dry rubs are phenomenal.
Not quite Robinson but Fireside Inn on rt. 60 has great wings if you don’t mind a dive bar. Drinks are cheap and strong!
Sidelines in Sewickley or Wiggy’s in Crafton (this one’s more of a takeout spot though)

Like Seejay, I also have not been there in years but it used to have quality bar food. It's still the same owners so I doubt that has changed.
Patrick's Pub is that way too, I haven't had their wings in years but used to be good.
No particular reason, but I've always worried about getting, say, hepatitis at the jailhouse. Haven't thought about the Steel Shaker since it was whatever 4-names-ago.
And, yeah, Millvale is rather out-of-the-way for take-out on the way home from work. (Moon & Beaver Co to McKees Rocks)
I’m not saying you WON’T get hepatitis there, but life is all risk-taking.
Yes! I forgot about Coles Pub. I used to love their wings.
Mad Mex has surprisingly good wings.
Can confirm the wings at sidelines are pretty good and it’s a great area to walk around for a date too

Wasn’t his decision, blame Henne for giving them the boot. Mostly sad for Shady, tho, as it proves to be a boon for Rat and the Tav. Butler St didn’t have anything like it, not down where they are anyway. And it’s still the same great place and great people. He actually played the hand he was dealt like a boss, who would expect anything less
Ah… landlords, good to hear. Not saying Larryville isn’t a good location, esp from what I read these days. But the Tav holds a special place in my heart, I couldn’t imagine it anywhere else.
Good on Him for playing the hand well…

That's already in the rotation. Good suggestion, tho. Still wish they'd gotten the land from the former rub-n-tug (now an empty lot) next door for more parking.
