I had a coworker who would tell people the government didn't want you to know about the fourth river.

I tried to explain an aquifer isn't a river, but he wasn't having it.

This is hilarious. I didn't believe that people actually thought this was a real thing until my parents asked me this mysterious river.

So many wild theories, I think the awareness around the 4th river stemmed from water clean up movement that happened here. I do think protecting the "4th river" should be a major concern. Especially after the recent study into cancer and birth defect causing pollutants still being disposed in the rivers.
