Your own neighborhood for sure. I'd be irked if someone that has no intention of being part of my community came hitting me up for stuff and then vanishing.

How would you even know? I mean do you know every family in your neighborhood? Not disagreeing they should be in their neighborhood but honestly how would you even really know.

I'm not going to be taking attendance, lol. I don't care how someone is a member of the community (residency, work, friends, family, worship, etc). Halloween is probably the biggest community-building event each year. I want people who are interested in building the community. I don't want an opportunistic rando from Reddit.

What I mean is that it's low to solicit recommendations for a community from which one can leech.

Friends of ours live in an area with a lot of trick or treating and some people just straight up tell them things like "our neighborhood had trick or treating last week but we always stop by here!"
