Where I’m from in NC there was an amazing local shop that had practice spaces you could rent by the hour that already had the drums set up, including cymbals. I’m looking around and having a difficult time finding something similar here, plenty of shops where you can play while “sampling” the merchandise but nothing with an actual private space for you to play. Does anyone know of a place that I could look at?

are you looking to demo new drum gear, or just find a place to practice drums real loud? if you are looking to demo gear, not sure I can help you with that. I would suggest calling/visiting the handful of music stores around the area and asking them.
However if you are just looking to practice by yourself or with a band, check out Ralph's Musicians Guild in Homestead. you can rent the space (it's a stage + all the gear: amps, drum kit, pa system, etc) for pretty cheap by the hour. maybe 20 bucks or so.
the other alternative is renting a practice space at one of the StoreExpress buildings around the area. I know there is one is Southside and (I think) McKees rocks that rent out practice spaces to bands with 24/7 access. Good luck!
