Hello everyone, recently got a brick house in the North Hills and I'm a bit concerned as some of the exterior bricks show signs of deterioration. It's an old house so I'm not completely surprised. I want to get this checked out by a professional, does anyone have any recommendations?

Thank you.

In my experience the inspector is independent from the seller, so their findings should be viable. If you're that worried about it, find a building inspector to come and have a look. I imagine if you call a masonry company you may be told that you need "xyz" so they can make money off you.

Is the house built from used brick and are the spalling bricks an orange color?

It's a forum for a city. You get these posts in every city / town / regional subreddit. Some are more polite than others.

Reddit was literally made to be a place to find useful information. If you don't care, downvote and move on. Nobody is stopping you.

It’s probably just the quality of these particular bricks. Bricks are available in different grades.

A masonry company can grind out the mortar and replace them with similar looking bricks but you can usually tell there has been a repair.
