We're replacing 8 windows (standard sliders). Got a quote for 12k from Universal, then a 9k quote from Window Nation. The salesperson from Window Nation kind of exhausted us into signing (3 hours!!!) but we have 3 days to cancel. Wanted to get a read on the situation to know if that was a decent price and if Window Nation is worthwhile.

2 quotes isn’t enough. I would try thermal twin bc they are made in Pgh but I don’t see you getting a quote in 3 days

I’ve no complaints. They did a good job on my house, andwere very clean. There was a minor problem with one latch that was fixed next day for no charge

Yeah, I agree :/ He was offering all of these extra discounts but only if we agreed same-day. We knew full and well that it was a high-pressure sales approach but we just wanted him to leave and had no real reason to say "no" except for wanting more quotes.

My experience with thermo twin was super high pressure. They are employee owned I believe. The guy who came to give us a quote did not want to leave after we said we needed to get more quotes. He was visibly angry. Though that was probably 10 years ago now. Just my experience.

Ditto. Installation was quick and easy for ~20 windows, the crew cleaned up well, and were done in like 3 hours. Some windows need a little adjustment in the weight mechanisms, but we're already had someone out to check them and order whatever parts we need. Seems to have been a pretty timely response. Given the other nightmares we've had with other projects, this one has been pretty smooth.

I went with window nation and had the same experience. We got three quotes, I forget who the other two were but they were the best. It was a smooth process and I really like our windows!

We had two windows (big picture windows) replaced by Window Nation and while the installers & the windows were great, the sales person was a royal ass.

When we did the rest of the windows, we went with Vynex https://www.vynexwindows.com/ after getting quotes from Window Nation and Window World . Vynex came in several grand under the rest and they’re local. One day of installation and we’ve got zero regrets.

Spent over a year having them come back to fix various things. Overall they replaced 3 different windows entirely and fucked with my storm door at least 6 times before it closes correctly.

All-Nu Windows! Dave is the owner and a great guy - this is his direct number 412-279-1717. Local business since 1988, absolutely worth the call. He will take care of you.

Norandex Reynolds, Superior windows and Pittsburgh window and door are all good companies. Any sales person who offers a better deal if you sign that day is usually shady.

Call All-Nu Windows for a quote 412-279-1717 Dave works with a few different window companies so you can get a better idea on pricing. The two quotes you got sound high.

I had them out and it wasn't super high pressure, but I didn't go with them and the price has dropped by several thousand dollars because they found "discounts". I ended up going with Thermo Twin though, they have a lot of endorsements in my area and in researching the windows themselves they are made well. My install should happen sometime in early December.

I had the same experience. Just asked for a quote and got a 90 minute hard sell presentation of buy right now or the price goes up by double or something. (I don’t remember the specific amount but it was very significant). My wife and I laughed at him and said “yeah we aren’t making a 20k decision on the spot if you want to honor your price when we make our decision we will give you a call”

He got visibly pissed off and said there is no way that is possible and we can only get the discounts today. He starts muttering about us wasting his time (we had no idea we were getting a 90 minutes sales presentation) and how nobody ever calls back if the don’t take the deal immediately.

Fuck that guy

I dont have a horse in this race, but that seems like a lot. I'd cancel. Maybe if you tell them Colin Dunlap from 93.7 the fan sent you, you'll get a discount?

They're ridiculous with their sales pitch, it's beyond awkward. Let me guess, they guy just bought a new house and out of curiosity he had window world and Anderson come out to give him quotes on it? Oh and you know he called his manager who just so happened to have the exact number of windows you want for the lowest price the salesman has seen in months...

If you do cancel you'll get the same or better offers from the territory manager within a week or so.
