If you like airplanes and/or history, and Dayton isn't too far, I would always always advise a trip to the Airforce museum in Dayton, OH. It's no fee for entry, and IMO, it's more than you can realistically see in a day. And it makes a great trip when the weather starts to turn since it's all indoors. If the entirety of aviation history doesn't sound interesting to you, I would probably look for something else though. Haha. But if that sort of thing interests you, it's an affordable and interesting weekend trip.
