Where might I find very good brined and smoked western PA–style ham, sliced medium-thick right off the bone? I don’t want a full ham, just a few pounds to satisfy a certain nostalgia—my uncle used to drive up to some lost-to-memory butcher around here from Virginia every fall to buy hams to give as gifts, and I miss it!

There’s this lil place a little bit north of the city if it’s not too far for you. Incredible meats, you really must try them. I insist- it’s called Arby’s, and it’s on McKnight Road

My uncle would often get the delicious "radiator ham" for Christmas dinner. I always pictured some guy crawling out from under the hood of a car, wiping his greasy hands on a shop rag and then going out back to check on his hams. The thought only adds to the experience.
