Most breweries draw a more open/accepting/liberal crowd than your average hole in the wall bar if that's your scene. Sorry, your friend's scene.

Mindful Brewing in Castle Shannon. But as the other comment said, breweries in general are probably good spots.

I second mindful brewing. It’s my favorite restaurant in that area. They always have arsenal! Queer, but haven’t gone on a date there yet

Curious about this as well and anything in Brookline or surrounding areas that are gay friendly to meet new friends. New to the area and trying to get my bearings. 😀

Not lgbt but Red’s seems to have every type of person you can imagine coming through so probably a safe bet.

Boulevard Lounge also had drag bingo or brunch up on their sign a few weeks ago and seems like a slightly younger crowd, I haven’t been in but make of that what you will. Eggheads seems to be for the 40+ crowd that still likes to go hard so might not be the vibe.

Seconded, I worked bartending in a brewery for awhile (albeit in the north hills), and we embraced being the place where anyone could get a drink with anyone. Generally speaking, outside of gay bars like blue moon, breweries are the second best bet.

There are tons, I promise you're not limited to trace. I've never gotten shit going out with my fiancé, even with the normal amount of couple PDA.

Like with friendly gays or friendly to the gays?

Apis has a more left leaning, quiet kind of crowd.

The Backdraft (Baldwin) and Gormans on 51 have done drag queen bingo nights. I’d think they would be open or friendly to you but guess it would depend on the clientele of the day/night.

I think I’ve seen -just from appearances a few gay couples at the backdraft. Not drawing a stereotype, they were obviously a couple.

I second reds. I regular there and think it’s one of the city’s best kept secrets. The bartenders are all fantastic and the crowd is diverse and welcome. It only took 2-3 visits before greg learned my name and made me feel home. Haha

I know i go to backdraft all the time either with my husband or my best friend who is also gay. Backdraft is usually great to meet someone and I never get any funny looks or responses from people. Super chill spot with tables/booths and bar seating and the staff are super friendly.
