Anyone know if any public libraries/universities/museums offer free or low cost access to a makerspace that contains a vinyl cutter or laser cutter? Working on a project that requires making decals and masks and would rather not have to order them online for the prototyping phase.

I could give you a hundred places that would cut it for you, but I don't know any DIY places.

Avoid laser cutters for this. Laser cutting vinyl releases toxic fumes and wouldn't give a sharp edge.

I sell these graphic materials wholesale to these sign and graphics shops.

If you have places that would be willing to do a run of like 5 stickers for a reasonable price, I'll take that too. I wouldn't laser the vinyl, would pick a different material for that. I've done this before when I lived in Cleveland (biggest public makerspace in the US on my college's campus).

Campus environments are the most likely places to find a maker space like that. I knew of a few in Columbus, but haven't discovered any here in Pittsburgh since I've moved.

I'd try Commonwealth Press in Mt Washington.

Unfortunately, it looks like Pitts are only available to students. CMU's are also pretty limited.

What kind of stickers? Just like print and cut, the kind of thing you can do with a Cricut?

Exactly that.

Hack PGH has equipment for vinyl and more. Never been but I’ve heard good things.

If that turns out to be overkill for your small project, hit me up. I have a vinyl cutter and a sublimation printer. It’s a hobby :)
