It's pretty common to see people trying to cut in front of someone to take that ramp. Looks like that's what happened here. I drive this way frequently. Happens all the time, but doesn't always results in a crash. This early in the day there's not much traffic. No reason to cut in front of somone - if that's what happened.

This city could print money by just ticketing "you were on your cellphone, in the car, and stopped in the middle of the crosswalk". We'd not need a police budget anymore; that'd likely cover it.

I drive that bridge all the time. I've seen it happen countless times. Sometimes it's only a close call and sometimes it's an accident. So it's not a stretch by any means. You seem pretty defensive so now I'm gonna assume you're one of the assholes who does this.

A Crash is Not an Accident

>Changing the way we think about events and the words we use to describe them affects the way we behave. Motor vehicle crashes occur "when a link or several links in the chain" are broken. Continued use of the word "accident" implies that these events are outside human influence or control. In reality, they are predictable results of specific actions.

>Since we can identify the causes of crashes, we can take action to alter the effect and avoid collisions. These are not Acts of God but predictable results of the laws of physics.
>
>The concept of "accident" works against bringing all appropriate resources to bear on the enormous problem of highway collisions. Use of "accident" fosters the idea that the resulting damage and injuries are unavoidable.
>
>"Crash," "collision," and "injury" are more appropriate terms, and we encourage their use as substitutes for "accident."

Hard to tell who's the better contender for r/IdiotsInCars, the person who crashed or the person who is taking a picture while they're driving past...

A few days ago I saw a car run another car off the road and damn near into a barrier like this one cause god forbid he allow the guy into the lane. Most people here drive with some kind of sense, then you have a few psychos who think Mad Max is life goals.

Something just doesn’t feel right to me about taking pictures of car crashes and then posting them on social media. The people involved are obviously in a horrible and stressful situation. No need to embarrass them further or exploit them.
