This campaign is suitable for any level of experience. We will start fresh from level 1 and do character creation, explaining the basics then jumping right into the story. The adventure is designed to be fun and engaging for players of all levels.

“Your character has boldly embarked on a journey, joining a party of fellow travelers on the path to a small village at the foot of a mountain range. It seems they are having a bit of dragon trouble and your group has answered their pleas for help.”
Ever wanted to play Dungeons & Dragons, while fending off your own mini dragons (aka adorable kittens)? Sign up for our month-long D&D campaign and hang out with our lounge cats while immersing yourself in a fantastical world!
Every Monday in January, you’ll spend a 3-hour session adventuring in the world of D&D, led by our capable Dungeon Master. This campaign meets on January 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd, and 30th — from 8:30pm to 11:30pm.
We provide the dice, information, snacks, and most importantly: the cats! You need only come with your creativity. This event is suitable for all levels of D&D experience, from total beginners to seasoned adventurers.
This game will use D&D Beyond (dndbeyond.com) for character creation and management of new level 1 characters. If you’d like to bring a personal device (phone, tablet, laptop, or anything with a web browser) to directly use the character app, feel free to do so.
Note: This event is only for players age 18+.
All proceeds go to the care of the cats at Rescue and Relax, so come on out and join the party!

Oh man I am so interested but that is a bit late for a school night

Are you going to do this again in another month? I'm in the middle of a COVID quarantine otherwise I'd sign up.
thunderbolt_alarm OP t1_j2bjbhq wrote
Each month with vary between short campaigns and one-shot series. January is a short campaign.

I could commit to a short campaign, for sure. I'll keep a look out for future ones. Thanks!

Assuming we wouldn't have to pay for a DND Beyond subscription?
Please post more about post-January events! Monday's not a great night for me but I am highly interested if any future campaigns will take place any other days!!!
Edit: Seems like they are "sold out" anyway
thunderbolt_alarm OP t1_j2dxoy4 wrote
You do not have to pay for a DnD Beyond subscription. A regular free account will be enough.

Oh man, ok I definitely need to sit and think about whether I can honestly and truly commit to this, but I really want to! I also had no idea there was a cat cafe so close to me!!

Other months might be one-shots adventures, so it would be just the one night. Make sure to follow one of the social channels to get the event listings.

Since January's campaign seems to be full, is there a particular social to follow for February? Definitely interested in monday night one shots or short campaigns.

Instagram and Facebook are probably the best to follow

Aww this sounds so fun but I'm out of town for the first two sessions :(:( any chance you guys wil run another campaign soon?
thunderbolt_alarm OP t1_j2bd1by wrote
Depending on the month, we will do short continuous campaigns or a series of one-shots (single-night events). January is a 5-session continuous campaign. I think February might be a series of one-shots.
ryumast3r t1_j2bbc1a wrote
This sounds great but do you have to show up every week? I move to pittsburgh on the 8th so wouldn't be able to join week 1.
thunderbolt_alarm OP t1_j2bdkpf wrote
Being able to commit to each session in the campaign is preferred, but it's up to you and not a requirement. We don't change the price for missed sessions though, sorry. We will have different months that will vary from short campaign to series of one-shots (one session).

Awesome, thank you for the info!

This sounds so amazing and might be the one combination of interests that would tempt me out of my house! A little late for my old ass, though. I hope sometime you can organize a 6-8pm or a Sunday afternoon time slot.
Hope it goes well and the kittehs don't make off with all the dice.
thunderbolt_alarm OP t1_j2e2vtq wrote
Some of the cats have been known to roll around a few dice. They do have a tenacity for sitting ontop of laptops and backpacks, and snuggling in winter coats. we start at 8:30pm because regular open hours for the lounge are 3pm-8pm Fri-Mon.

Oh, how I wish I could still commit to a D&D schedule. My seven year long game I DM'd fell apart in mid 2019 and I've yearned for more ever sense.
thunderbolt_alarm OP t1_j2e24tt wrote
oof, seven years is a looong game. 2019 was the start of the great migration to playing dnd online
Turious t1_j2fnypo wrote
Yeah, it was an incredible seven years. One of my players was finishing her masters so we held off until she graduated. She graduated, we had two sessions before the world locked down. Then a player went and had a kid. We all agreed it was just over.
The way I run games is more of an improv session. Makes it super hard to make prepared materials for an online game so I just never made the shift.
thunderbolt_alarm OP t1_j2fpz60 wrote
Ah, yea, from what I have noticed online games play best with maps and visuals to help keep players engaged. Moving from in-person to the online sounds painful.

Is this suitable for newbies wanting to learn D&D or is some knowledge preferred?
