Might be a long shot but looking for some real Udon noodles to cook at home

I found some in whole foods but they're not what I think of when I think of Udon at all, they were flat and not very chewy. I'm looking to make a nice, hearty soup with thick, chewy noodles like these. The only issue is if I search "Buy udon noodles pittsburgh" or "udon noodles near me" I get a bunch of Japanese restaurants, but I'm looking for some I can take back home and cook, and I've neither the patience nor dexterity to hand-make noodle dough and hand roll them myself.

Strip district asian store supermarket next corner by Wholeys. Udon, lo mein, and i think mei fun, all in 1# bags - for about $1.29 a bag. Good stuff.

Buy frozen packs of udon. They have them at tokyo Japanese market in the freezer to the left of the register.

They are also in the freezer section of Lotus Foods (next to whooleys in the strip district) and Many More Asian (also strip district). I would not buy the dried noodles as they just are not the same.

If you're feeling really ambitious, you can get the ingredients and make them yourself. This is a 2 day process, but so worth it when you get it right!! Get the cake flour from the asian food markets if you want to go that route.

Pretty sure they have the Udon in 'fresh' and probably 'dried' also. I usually only get the one from the fridge in the back before the produce section, and mostly buy the lo mein noodles. They freeze well also.

WFH Oriental Market on the corner of Penn and 23rd in the strip district has a great noodle selection. Real Udon, real Lomein and the flat rice noodles for Thai Pad See Uw.

Not a long shot at all! Lots of Asian markets in Pittsburgh. I usually go to Many More but all of the stores listed here are great options. Many of them carry fresh noodles. I just had some single portion packs of udon that were in the refrigerated section of Many More.

Market district bethel park has some packaged ones in the Asian section. Not the dried ones but the thick chewy ones.

Tokyo mart has it. So does Lotus next to Wholey's in my experience Tokyo mart is smaller, but better.
