I used to wash my cans there all the time. Sad to see it go.

There's a combination car/dog wash at the bottom of University Blvd in Moon. I take my cans there now

I’m not sure what the market really is for washing cans. Easy to see why it didn’t work out as a business.

I hate this intersection (and Swissvale Ave) with the passion of a thousand suns.

The red lights in that area feel like they're timed/designed so that you're guaranteed to never "hit a green."

Syncing the lights for more traffic throughput would be dangerous for the pedestrians who use that intersection.

We need more public transportation options.

More public transit options? Especially in poorer neighborhoods?! You must be crazy /s

Nice job OP, you captured the feel.

The house across the street, AS IS in the Google map, would make a great painting too. The 40oz still half in the bag on the stoop, the open windows, the run down facade, and the perfect sign on the pole out front reads - GOOD ALL OVER. 😆 Not to mention the perfectly manicured lawn of the house/church next door. What a mess.

In the late 90s this was a short lived Rally's location.

That thing is abandoned? I thought I saw it running less than a year ago?

Is it actually abandoned? One of the bays got a large delivery of materials a few months ago and someone went through and replaced the missing and damaged block all around the building where the coin machine and pay machines were located. I figured it was being renovated or something so it would be able to be used again? Or that's hopeful and it's just making it slightly less dilapidated so it doesn't collapse. Any inside scoop?

It's been closed for many years. The one that you're thinking of is likely the one behind McDonald's.

Nope, I am definitely thinking of the right one, its caddy corner to the gas station that just got a bit of a revamp. Been closed longer than ive been in the area but they DEFINITELY did block work to it and the one bay has materials in it. Whole place is surrounded by a chain link fence. The McDonalds one I use once in a while.

It's probably abandoned because I just wash my cans in the sink. So much easier than taking them there.

Just passed the can wash, and it looks like they are doing some construction on the right side . Does not look like anything too major yet

It's an "abandoned" car wash, not an "abandon" car wash.
