Well you’re kind of in luck. I was a cancer patient there, specifically Hodgkin’s lymphoma. The facility is really nice and almost feels more like a spa than a cancer facility. The 4th floor has a rooftop putting green that patients can use while getting chemo. Lots of the staff seems to be the same. I think they are just open Monday - Friday and mostly daylight hours. I also worked for UPMC after chemo treatment, but not at Hillman. It was ok. Benefits were ok. It really depends on your department head if your office has a good vibe or not.

Thanks for the input! Another question, did APPs (PA/NP) treat you solo or were they all shared visits with a physician present? The reason I ask is because autonomy is important in a job.

I am also a frequent 4th floor visitor. For a office visit PA usually comes in and does their thing then comes back with the doc. From my experience, everyone seems autonomous. I see non-docs 75% of the time.

BTW, I love the 4th floor. I'd rather not be here but they make it comfortable and every person is nice and empathetic as hell.

During a normal visit I would see the oncologist and PA. I’m not sure if it was just the preference of my oncologist, that they want to see every patient every time. I am sure some patients demand to see the oncologist every time too. I believe it was NPs who would give chemo to the patients and they seemed pretty solo. There are kind of two sides to the 4th floor too. The treatment side and the “normal” office side.
