So I don’t have 1Gbps fiber. But I get the 500Mbps I pay for. When it has issues they have fixed them. Performance issues take a bit of persistence. Took a few calls. But they sent guys out and fixed it.

If you have not and can, test the performance hardwired at the router. Lost of thing can get in the way of getting a full gig to a wifi connected device.

This. And unplug/replug Cat 6 cables. I live on the thrifty side of life and my cables are down to a price point. Sometimes they need to be reconnected if there is any chance something has physically moved.

My self-terminated cables frequently negotiate down to 100Mb from 1000. Honestly, I gave up and bought a good wi-fi adapter which gets about 200Mb and 18ms pings, which is good enough for most of what I do. And then the leftover 800Mb of bandwidth, I don't have to worry about the kids DLing a PS5 game or streaming 4k.
