Its unseasonably warm but still too cold to do anything and too dreary to enjoy the seasonal glitch.

Not really. There has always been winters like this. Last year we had a ton of snow
We did?
We had 45 inches, which is slightly above average. The year before that we had 58 inches, which is 14 inches above average
last year on the same weekend I was out ice climbing and we had probably 6-8" on the ground. Still hoping we get another run of that in Feb.
I think this year is the one where I don't shovel the sidewalk and parking spots a single time this winter.
Why? Because I bought a new snow blower in October. And I won't get to use it a single time this year.
Honestly, thank you.
I refuse. I didn't shovel today. I'm not doing it!
It's been an extremely snowless winter throughout the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic; except for Northern New England. West of the Mississippi though, winter has been more of what they would expect.

Winter now is just constant wet.
If it’s too cold to do stuff, I’d recommend upgrading your coat and boots. This is a great time of year for clearance sales on winter technical gear.
I’m not saying it’s any fun on a rainy day, but getting out for a walk really helps me with the winter blues.
Same. A lot of parks around here have pretty great walking trails too. Love hiking but it's a bit slippy this time of year!
This beats yesterdays post when someone cried about it being too sunny.
Saturday was nice though...
Mud season
If it's not gonna be cold and snowing, just give me spring. The 40s are annoying. It's not warm but not cold, just muddy and gross.
We can still get snow for the next 2-3 months.
Pittsburgh, folks.
Yesn't
Makes me rethink getting my snow tires on. What about you all?
I never get snow tires. How often does it really snow more than an inch or 2 in Pittsburgh any year? I don't find them necessary.
I've never had them either and will likely never get them. I can work from home quite easily and they do a pretty solid job of cleaning the streets quickly where I live. Also as winters like this one show, it's just not consistently cold and snowy enough here to make them worth it. This isn't the Lake Erie snow belt or Montreal.
Yeah I don’t get them for here necessarily, I get them for when I travel elsewhere (a bit north). But you’re right
I’m still glad to have mounted them on my wife’s car. The braking performance on cold wet roads is pretty awesome.
I put my winter tires on a few weeks ago, guaranteeing we will not have any more snow or sub freezing days this year. But I had my worn all seasons on around Xmas and after sliding all over the place decided it was time.
I've been enjoying the chillier days but I was hoping to get to see a bit more proper snow my first winter here! Still, I've seen more snow even this relatively tame winter than I have in multiple combined winters back in TN so it's something! But I've got some big, thick socks, duck boots, an insanely warm coat and wanted a chance to really be out there in the thick of it!
We did have that cold snap and storm back in December... how was that?
I was at my folks house visiting them for Christmas and completely missed it! The weather conspires against me
Might just be your neighborhood
i call it ‘fake spring’
Thank god I was at least born in 2000 and got to see a few significantly snowy winters
We had an above average snowfall literally last year. There was always winters like this
Didn’t seem above average at all
Idk what city you were in. We had multiple 4+ inch events last year
For example, in 2010 I got to witness 79.1 inches, I’m not talking about average stuff I’m talking about the significant ones I was able to witness
Oh I remember 2010 too. But before that, we hadn’t had snow like that since 1993. If you look at the historical snowfall, the past few years haven’t been significantly less than what has happened since the 1800s.
I just think the whole “winter isn’t how it used to be” is hyperbole. Winter hasn’t changed all that much in 200 years here.
Kids these days won't know the fun of snow days even if we do get enough because of virtual/zoom setups since Covid.
Some districts are back to calling actual snow days, they are finally admitting just how terrible kids do with the virtual learning
