We went in February 2020 at Rivers Casino, before we knew what COVID would become, and I'll tell you what -- if I had gotten deathly ill at a festival that mediocre, I would have been pissed.

This sounds like one of those things meant for people who want to be seen and post on Instagram about their supposedly wonderful lives like to go to.

It was a few days before Valentine's Day and we enjoy whiskey, wine and chocolate, man

It's not that serious

Anyway, it wasn't fantastic. Music was OK. But somehow almost all of the vendors were kinda second-rate.

I wasn't attacking you for going, I was just saying who it sounds they had in mind when set this up for

I guess I should be grateful I picked up my COVID infection at Summer Recess.

There's been a bunch of these festival type events lately that bank on marketing and fall short of what they promised. They really take away from the well run and enjoyable events for people.

We should start a list of these that's pinned or something.

Van Gogh event Pittsburgh Taco festival

I went, and it was bad?

I stuffed myself with tacos and left…..what am I missing?

I thought it was just alright when I went. It was hot and there was a lot of standing in line. You are basically paying to buy tacos that you could have otherwise bought outside of the festival throughout the city. If you really want to try a bunch of different taco places without having to drive all over the place then it isn’t that bad.

Tasteusa is a well known scam around here. Their taco festival was terrible! Will always skip their events.

$55 as a base fee for this garbage? I'll pair you a few chocolate bars and a bottle of wine for free!

I went to the Mimosa Festival hosted by this company. It was absolute trash. When I looked up the company out of curiosity and saw it's reviews for other events, I was surprised that it was still in business.

Why hasn't someone come up with an immersive art thing and food festival combination yet?

We went in 2020 (as another has commented, was before we really knew how COVID would go), we actually had a very good time. We got plenty of free samples, and I really enjoyed the vendors that were there.

It was pretty busy, but it wasn't like we were packed in sardine cans- probably too close for COVID, but luckily we were all good (group of about 8 of us).

That's sad. We went the first year it was here and really enjoyed it! There were plenty of food samples along with the wine and whiskey, water was available, wasn't too crowded. There were some places that sold out before we arrived but we chalked that up to first year jitters. Definitely seems that's not the case.

We went back in 2020 and it was AWFUL - I even went in for the “VIP” passes and it was just ridiculous. Huge crowds of people, hot, disorganized. If I had known it was basically a vendor fair, I wouldn’t have paid what I did.
