Clubs in Downtown Providence?

The weekend after Valentine's Day I'm planning on taking my girlfriend out to Circe, then thought it might be fun to stop at Freeplay before going out to a club. Because of how close it is to Ego I'm considering taking her there. But I saw they've received a ton of bad Google reviews in the past couple months about drinks being spiked and bouncers being overly aggressive and I wasn't sure if this was homophobic review bombing or if they were legitimate complaints.

If the former, I just wanted to make sure it was ok for us (a cis, straight couple) to be there. We consider ourselves allies, but we also don't want to occupy queer spaces if it means making others uncomfortable. If its the latter, are there other clubs people would suggest that would be fun/safe for dancing? Thanks in advance for the advice!

PS: I am in no way trying to be insulting or suggest that LGBTQ spaces aren't fun or safe, I just saw quite a few bad reviews and want to make sure that that specific club is a safe place.

as far as i know , ego is a good club and it really doesn’t matter if you’re straight as long as you’re respectful i think :) try it out yknow ? if you’re okay with it

Oh ya I’ve been before with friends and it was a blast, just never went just me and my gf before. Wanted to make sure I wasn’t overstepping. Thanks!

Honestly I think ego is the best club in prov. Its all about having fun and dancing. There’s an outside smoking section with a bar. There’s a huge dance floor that really extends and flows to the entire club. The DJ plays songs that are relevant and what people actually want to hear. Not to mention they have smoke machines that spray out periodically. If that’s your vibe definitely go. I recommend going on twerk Fridays lol. P.s. I’m straight and go with my girlfriend all the time and (when I can convince them) with friends occasionally. Everyone is welcoming and really just worried about themselves.

I've personally never heard of problems like that at Ego but every time I have gone in the past it has been an absolute blast. You could also check out Salon behind City Hall.

If you want to be safe, stay home. If you want to have a great time, Ego is a fantastic option.
