I’m just amazed by the 65 degree difference in temperature between this Friday and last. Is that a record?
Do we normally get more snow? This is my first winter here and at first I thought the lack of snow was because we're on the coast.
I haven't heard the Subaru "this will be the best winter ever" jingle once and this might be the best winter ever.
Yes, absolutely. This winter has been very, very warm. Usually we would gave gotten a few big snows by now of 4 or more inches.
yea this is definitely a light winter. on the plus side haven't had to shovel this year lol
A typical year is like 3-5 feet of snow, years that go way above that.
Providence gets less than more inland places typically but there was over 2 feet last January alone. For a full winter, it can really add up on the big years. In 2015, the snowpile by the armory was still around until June because there was so fucking much of it
I don't love the cold winter weather full of snow, and once I'm financially able or more like when I retire, I plan to move to warmer weather.
So for me, this has been the BEST winter ever!! 🎉
Is there a word for being glad that it's not cold, but simultaneously being reminded of your crushing climate change anxiety?
We don’t get as much as northern New England or even most of Massachusetts because of our proximity to the coast, but we usually get a handful of storms every winter. Other than last weekend when it was jarringly cold, this whole winter has felt much more like spring. It’s pretty unnerving. I keep waiting for the temps to drop for good, but…nope!
Climate change anxiety really cramps my enjoyment of beautiful days like these :/
Dreading a big blizzard right at the end like we got last time we had a winter with this much lack of snow.
I’d like to know if there is . Exactly how I feel about this winter.
I’ll take the downvotes too - loving this climate
There was also a ton of snow in the 2017-18 winter. And it also included a stretch of like 2 weeks where wind chills were below zero (and as bad as -20).
Bittersweet
Both were: record-setting Feb low and record-setting Feb high, six days apart
Haha, one winter in the mid 90s we had 17 snowstorms in a row -- it made narrow streets impassible. It made property owners who didn't shovel their sidewalks resented for decades 😆
I moved up here and was so excited for my first new england winter. i’m still holding out hope for a snowstorm lol

Cooler, but warmer. So lame, but it’s facking accurate.
