I don't know if you would consider this fun but the RISD art museum is free on Sundays.

Electromagnetic Pinball Museum in Pawtucket. $10 to get in, 60+ machines all set to free play, and you can stay as long as you want. It’s pretty awesome.

This looks amazing! Definitely going to check it out this weekend.

Edit: just spent like two hours there and it’s like the best Saturday we’ve had in awhile. Thanks for the recommendation!

Was just there today - it was awesome! Great folks who run it.

They really are. For first-timers: it may look like chaos when you get there. It is, but it’s very well-organized chaos.

Natural History Museum at Roger Wms Park is really cheap -- under $5. Last time I went, so was admission to the Botanical Gardens (and the citrus trees there should be in bloom now: the smell is heavenly.

Go to a planetarium show there. It's really cheap, and very relaxing.

It's also free to walk around the whole park.

I just went to the botanical gardens and yes, it’s still 5 bucks! Lots of little places to sit around with a book and hang out with the plants too.

And especially this time of year, when you cross the threshold it's like Dorothy stepping into technicolor Oz, leaving the black & white Kansas that is February in Rhode Island behind -- magical ✨🌸✨

Freeplay cost $10 on the weekends for unlimited arcade games.

Also check out Dusk and AS220, they have shows that cost 10-15 bucks to get in. Not sure your music interests.

How busy is Freeplay? I’ve always wanted to try it

I went once on a Friday night and it was very packed but you still could play games. Only things like DDR had a line. It also skewed very young, like college kids, but we didn't feel awkward as people in our 30s. Gonna try to visit on a weeknight, it's cheaper and probs less packed. The drink selection does kind of suck but it was still lots of fun.

Cheaper if you go early! I paid $7 bc I arrived right as Freeplay opened.

I like walking around Fox Point. Start at the Pedestrian Bridge (free), and walk up Wickendon. There will probably be some food trucks nearby.

Browse at Nostalgia, a fun vintage shop. Go upstairs and downstairs.

Grab a slice at Felinis (NY style) or Pizza Marvin (Sicilian). Or grab tacos outside on Ives St.

Walk over the highway bridge to Fox Point Park, and up to Narragansett Brewery. Some good beers on tap. Not your father's gansett.

Ya my bad on the location. I usually start the day with New YORK system before headed to POP and got confused there.

The Farmers Market on Saturdays and The Flea are both free. Food trucks, coffee and even beer and spirits are close by. Both are held inside at Farm Fresh RI on Sims Ave. They're held outside during the warmer months.

https://www.farmfreshri.org/

Check to see if there's an exhibit at Waterfire Arts Center. They're generally free, but accept donations.

The venues are a couple of minutes apart. You can even walk if you like.

If I recall most strip clubs are free before 6 pm, go there with at least $20 buy 1 drink and sit far from the stage, and remember she really likes you for your personality.

PVD Atheneum then walk to see the view over Prospect Park, RISD museum, hang at Coffee Exchange or other shops and read/relax

When it's cold outside and we want to get out of the house, my husband and I buy $1 fountain drinks from Cumbies, spike them with $1 nips, and drive to Providence Place to walk around and eat a mall pretzel. We don't even really walk into any of the stores (except sometimes the hot sauce store for samples) but we have a stupidly good time doing it and it cost like, $6 total.

Kismet Improv has free standby tickets for every show. We release unsold/no show tickets just after the show starts. Just come by at 7:30 and put your name on the list with the box office. There’s a great show tonight with Improv Jones and Neighbors (BOS).

I haven’t been in a while, but there’s a really good improv comedy scene and the shows used to be $5. Look up PIG- that’s the big group. Sometimes it’s a really funny night, sometimes it’s less so but I always found it a good time and inexpensive
