I've got some surplus restaurant-quality dishes that I just want to get rid of. I tried selling them on eBay, but the shipping was too much for anyone to buy at a fair price. Now I'm just looking for somewhere to donate them.

Before anyone suggests it, I have already reached out to Crossroads. I emailed the person in charge of donations, she emailed be back saying she would gladly accept them, and that we should schedule a time for me to drop them off. And then she just....ghosted me? I replied to no response. I left a voicemail to no response. I emailed again 2 weeks later to no response. It has been almost two months now, and the dishes are just sitting in my trunk taking up space.

Also, I am not interested in giving them away to a for-profit corporation or just some freeloader. I want to donate them to a cause that needs them.

Savers takes them and the proceeds goes to a nonprofit org

The nonprofit suggestions so far are good. But I'm also a fan of "Buy Nothing" groups. Join your local group and offer them to neighbors.

Most buy nothing groups are hosted on Facebook, if that works for you. I joined my neighborhood group and have both given and revieved free items.

I was trying to donate bus and train tickets to crossroads and had a hard time getting in contact with the person too but it did eventually work out. Hope she’s ok that is odd behavior for two months.

Not sure who you consider a free loader but there’s plenty of folks in need who search on offer up and fb marketplace for free items. I’ve given a bunch of stuff away like that - no way to tell if they aren’t gonna just resell them but I think a good chunk of the time it’s people who could use the help.

How many are there? I’d be happy to take them, depending. Shoot me a DM friend!
