I have a very old car (2010 VW Golf) that runs, but has several quirks (A/C doesn't work, roof upholstery needs work). I'm looking to just sell it at this point, does anyone have suggestions for where to sell (CarMax v. a dealership)?

FB marketplace make sure you end it with “no lowballs, I know what I got”

find a boat launch point, use a brick on the gas pedal and tell the insurance company none of the stuff you mentioned here.

CarMax gave me 6000 in trade for my car that KBB’d at 4000, definitely worth checking out what they offer you. They offered way more money than anyone else when I bought my car last month.

I think pretty much any place doing a trade-in and sale is going to offer the most. If someone isn't buying a new car, the offer drops substantially since they're just softening their sale profit.

Someone posted the same question maybe 2-4 weeks ago, I tried to search but didn't come up. There were a couple good things in there I didn't know myself.

You’d make more money by selling it privately. A dealer probably wouldn’t give you anything for it. List it on marketplace or Craigslist and take whatever you can get.

I’m offended to hear a car the same age as mine called old LOL. Youngest I’ve had so far.
