Didn't realize Manchester was that expensive...
It's cheaper here?!?
But yeah it's a very young city with all the colleges we have here, easy enough to meet people in that age range.
Maybe cause it’s not?
I dunno, quick look through Zillow, apts seem cheaper in nh.
Edit: I misspoke. We are lucky in RI.
I hate to break it to you, but Providence is one of the most expensive places to live in New England, highly doubtful it's cheaper than where you are.
But yeah, you will meet people here. 24 is a good age to be in Prov.
I guess it’s a thing people want to move here? 🤷🏻♂️

Just did the same, and looks comparable. I thought it was a nice city, not dirty. But then again I've never been and these are just things I've heard. Isn't it a college town, or no?
Providence is a really great city. Like any area there are neighborhoods to avoid, etc. anything providence doesn't have you can find in Boston, which is not that far at all. I personally ducking love the area. Crazy good food scene, too. Like, unexpectedly so.
Don't forget we got more taxes here.
Good to know, thanks.
I was thinking of moving to nh to be closer to family but it seems so isolated up there.

Waaait…..you said it’s cheaper here than in NH? That can’t be right. The housing rates are almost as high as Boston, honey. I love it here for many reasons but affordability isn’t one of them. Don’t move here thinking it’s cheaper than NH.

Nicer and newer? Are places in Manchester from the 1400s? Because looking at Zillow it feels like every other place in Providence is from 1890
Ok, Well if that’s the case then come on! Providence is thee best weird lil’ city. I love it here 💕
How much money are you planning on spending. It's about 1800 a month for a 2 bed here that isn't falling apart.
The pictures might look nice but you might end up with mold and mice even at a higher price point
I was paying close to $1500/month for a 2 BR/1 BA apartment. Saved a few hundred dollars/month to move into a 2 BR/2 BA townhouse with washer/dryer. (This was like 5-ish years ago. I closed on a house like right before COVID)
Other things are relative in cost or just slightly more expensive (going from 0% sales tax to 7% threw me off).
Car insurance is another story. I pay ~$100/mo for 1 car and that's way cheaper than everywhere else I looked. In NH, I paid that for 2 cars.
So it probably evens out but quality of life is superior. And the pizza omg. The further north you go, the worse the pizza is (or maybe it's the further from NYC). I would literally just eat Sams Club or Pizza Hut because those were actually the best options. And making friends is easier. There's so much more to do overall.
I'm your age from NH and lived in Prov for a few years, it was pretty nice. Not sure what part of NH you're from, but just be aware the culture in Prov will be a bit different than what you may be used to. Hit me up if you want recommendations on areas to live/activities
Providence is full of art and culture. the nightlife is great. Very high number of gorgeous women per capita if you’re into gorgeous women. Plenty to get involved in, plenty to do and see, Boston/Newport are close enough to be able to visit for a day without having to live there. We have the best food scene in New England in my humble opinion. Just make sure you own a car. Try to live as close to fox point or federal hill as you can. Upper South side is cool too

better than Manch Vegas for sure. I moved here from NH when I was 24 (quite some time ago).
