The night shift at the natick mall is super popular, for what it’s worth. Could be a nice add to the mall.

They brew great beer, and their taprooms (esp their original in Everett, MA) have a good atmosphere. Would love to have one nearby!

Also, idk if its just me, but since covid Providence Place has felt like a struggling suburban mall - a lot of the good shops and restaurants have left. This could be a good step toward its comeback.

There’s also the Brazilian steakhouse chain Fogo De Chão going into the old Joe’s American Bar and Grill location, which has been empty for years

I went there for the first time since Covid about a week and a half ago to park for a P Bruins game (it was a Saturday) and I was actually shocked how busy it was. I can't vouch for how many people were shopping or just moving through but there was a bunch of people.

I’m excited. I feel like providence place has been struggling for a few years. I don’t go as often anymore since Nordstrom’s closed a few years ago

Nordstrom Cafe was one of my favorite places in PVD. Good food, excellent service and a great view of the State House and the East Side off in the distance.

Seriously. Nordstrom->boscovs was already a huge downgrade, but losing the cafe still hurts.

I loved looking at that view as a kid! I always wonder where those windows are now in the mall.

Most malls have been struggling for the last decade and the pandemic just made it worse. Consumer habits and competition have just changed so much from the 80s and 90s. malls just aren’t what they used to be

Awesome, love night shift

Cool. I like their spot near the Garden in Boston and have hit up some of their beer gardens around too.

I assume they'll be taking over one of the front facing first floor units near cvs.

There’s been construction activity in the former Joe’s American Bar and Grill space, which was empty for… seven years? I wonder if this is what’s going in.

says 3rd floor in the coming soon... guess by the food court?

Feels like a misleading title, a Level 99 is opening in Providence Place that happens to have ties to Night Shift

6

orm518 t1_jd5x4mw wrote

It says they’re separate if you read it closely. (Not being snarky.)

7

bumblesnatcher t1_jd64yqd wrote

It's confusing, it says it's separate but then it also references the Mass set up where it's actually just a partnership and Level 99 is the sole business

6

orm518 t1_jd6clon wrote

But aren’t you just assuming that will be the case here too?

bumblesnatcher t1_jd7i72o wrote

Considering Night Shift fired all of their employees only a few months ago and now only contract brew, I feel pretty confident in my assumption

2

beerisgreatPA t1_jdak7kf wrote

As an fyi to everyone. This is NOT run by nightshift. It’s a bar staffed and run by the company level-99. Night shift fired basically their entire production staff and moved their entire brewing operation to jacks abbey. Rhode Island does not need a mass brewery advertising a fake taproom. This is only going to hurt RI breweries.
