I have one of those FreshPark quarter pipes just like the one that's already there (it may actually be a little bigger, to be honest) that's been collecting dust and I'm thinking it might be nice to pay it forward and add it to that little park.

My concern is making sure it's ok/legal for me to do that and if so, getting it down there...it's heavy AF... I'd be happy to drive my truck down there, unload and set it up, but I'm sure I'd need some kind of permission to do that.

Any thoughts?

Billy Taylor is a city park so providence parks and rec would be the first call to make. https://www.providenceri.gov/parks/about/

Word. I figured that was gonna be the answer...I just feel like contacting the city parks dept I'm just gonna get the runaround and/or a generic response that will ultimately end up going no where.

I don't wanna deal w a bunch of red tape and politics... I have a ramp I wanna donate...let me donate it.

Sometimes individuals who work for PVD will surprise you with their responsiveness. Might as well reach out to them with an email or phone call.

I plan on it tomorrow when I get to work. I feel like emailing from my company email might lend a little more credence. Appreciate the responses!

Contact Wendy Nilsson directly. She lives in the neighborhood. Though I'm going to say she will say no considering she removed all the donated toys from the Gladys Potter park due to insurance issues.

A friend of mine worked with Providence Parks Department to build and install that bank/ flat bar. The red tape is not worth the time trust, just lug it down there with some friends and set it up.

Really? I thank you for that effort as frustrating as it sounds like it was...I love that little bank, kicker and rail...it's exactly what a 40 year old that can barely kick flip anymore needs.

Reach out to the councilperson in that Ward. I think it might be Sue Anderbois. She can definitely point you in the right direction.

That or your state representative or senator some good press that I’m sure they would never turn down.

I do, you good to toss that thing up. The community would greatly appreciate it. The RI skate community is all about guerilla concrete work. If something randomly shows up, we all get hyped.
