In terms of speed/uptime, nobody else comes close to FIOS. Cox can be fine for a lot of home users but there's some stuff (WFH, gaming, streaming) where their shitty upload speeds will be a problem and they have full or partial (degraded service that still kinda works) outages a LOT more often.

With fios since 2017. I can count the outages I’ve noticed on one hand. With Cox it felt like a monthly occurrence.

I've been using them for like....4 or 5 years now and have had 2 outages.

Both times, the garbage truck's mechanical arm had taken out the wire to the house and it got fixed within a day.

Between outages I couldn't control and times I had to power cycle the modem, I don't think I went more than 2 weeks without having a Cox problem in the previous 6 years.

They've got me hooked enough where, if I had to move, I don't think I'd go somewhere that didn't have FIOS. It's a dealbreaker

To be clear, Cox can definitely be cheaper and probably fine for a lot of people. It totally depends on need and what matters. I look at it from the lens of quality/reliability because of personal/professional needs, but that isn't for everyone.
