Saw Jagged Little Pill a few months ago. PPAC needs to do a serious audio overhaul. It went from too loud, to incomprehensible at seemingly random times. Something is wrong and they don’t seem to know it.

We went on Thursday evening and it seemed like there was an issue with the microphones, especially Orpheus' mic. Really frustrating given the cost of the tickets!

I’m glad I’m not alone about the sound. I have season tickets and have noticed audio issues in the past, but not enough that it obscured what was happening. I don’t think I’d ever see this play again. (Some of my recent favorites are Come From Away and Jagged Little Pill.)

Nope. I would have left at intermission but my sister and niece were with me, and they spent a lot of money to be there.

I was at yesterday's matinee in the first dress circle, and I definitely had problems understanding some of the dialogue.

I’m a retired sound person and there are many spots in the that room that are completely muddled and dead. The system definitely needs work.

Going to pay more attention to sound quality as a matter of where you sit. Times I've gone to PPAC sound has been lousy or OK but never very good. Balcony seems best come to think of it.

While I normally complain about the sound quality at PPAC, mostly that the instruments overwhelm the voices, this time, I thought it was fine.

That's the exact way I feel every time I see a musical at PPAC. Comedy shows are usually fine. But I've left each musical frustrated because I could not tell what the hell was going on.

Pro tip, if you ever want guaranteed (or as close as it gets) audio get your seat near the sound engineer’s booth.

Saw it on Broadway last weekend and it gets LOUD, I'm not surprised PPAC's audio got overwhelmed

We went Sunday night. We'd seen the show in Boston at the Orpheum Theatre and I thought it was the most amazing show I'd seen to date. The vocals were flawless. I found last night at PPAC to be too loud at points, at the point of piercing rather than stirring, and vocally inferior to the Boston performance in 2021. But now I am thinking it may have been the audio as you are all suggesting. Though when I have seen Wicked, which has some giant notes, the sound has always been great. We were in the last row of first dress circle.

I went a few nights ago. It's one of my favorites, I've seen it several times in different theaters, and I agree that it was hard to understand the words this time at PPAC. Seemed to be a combination of their tech and some vocal choices. Hope you were able to still enjoy it!
