My roommate is moving out and we currently have a $50 a month Verizon wifi plan (which does not appear to be an option anymore on the website). Cox wants to charge $89 a month for wifi which seems very pricey. There are just two of us in the home, we stream shows, play games, and occasionally work from home. I would appreciate recommendations and price points! Thank you

Can you get Fios? Mine is $39/month and not on a contract.

FIOS 300/300 for $50 a month is the standard offer and definitely exists on the site.

Verizon as well but idk how the cost compares now. It was such a great law that completely flew under the radar. People with very low income or disabilities/social security get suuuuuper cheap internet.

You may not have many options available since some companies do no provide service in certain locations or buildings.

My question is do you really need unlimited internet? If you are not downloading massive amounts of data then one of the cap plans may be enough. For example I have a around 1000gigs plan and I never ran into issues. This includes lots of streaming and working from home. Just a thought.

Finally can you just change the name in the plan to you to still keep it and be grandfather into the unlimited? That may be an option

Very hard to find unlimited mifi. I don’t think that exists anymore. Check out T-Mobile home internet. That’s is unlimited.

I use fios gigabit and it’s $80, if you have Verizon wireless it’s $10 off

Compared to what I’ve seen for a gigabit it’s about on par

If you are financially strapped Cox does offer discount of $30.
