I go to Ski Shop Plus up 146 near the Rustic Drive In.

Ski Shop Plus is about 20ish minutes north, used to work there. Big on fitting people in the right boot, not just making a sale.

Joyce at Alpine is a true boot fitter. She can make adjustments and is certified as a boot fitter.

Most high end newer boots need less adjustment as they are heat moldable. But when a toe box needs expanding or some other physical change has to be made you need a true boot fitter not a boot salesman that seems to know their stuff.

You will find the best ones up north near good race mountains though.

You should also ask /r/icecoast

I can’t speak to shops near PVD, but if you wanted to make a weekend out of it Stan and Dan’s in North Conway does a great job, so do green mountain boot fitters at Stratton.

When I’ve gone to Alpine in Warwick before they seemed knowledgeable about what I was looking for but the customer service didn’t seem great that day.

Stan and Dan's is definitely worth the drive. Not only do they do a great job but also stand behind the sale. I have returned to have boots tweaked and I have even gone back with my kids boots and they have made adjustments for growth several times and never charged me. I will never buy boots anywhere else

I'm super late to this post but yeah, I totally recommend Brad at Anderson's. At least when I bought mine, the deal is that you can keep going back for punch outs and any other adjustments needed and it's part of the cost. For me it was 100% worth it.

I'm a snowboarder, but I know REI sells ski equipment.

If you can make it to Boston, Ski Monster. Those guys know their stuff, they help Freeskier magazine test new equipment every year. If that’s too far, ski shop plus on 146.
