Yup, she is a scammer. I’ve gotten in huge fights with her as a previous tenant on Ring St. no working heat most of our time living there, repairs were never done, there ended up being an electrical fire which gutted the back hallway which fire Marshall deemed, she said it was from cigarettes lol. I called the code office because it was left exposed in December to the elements, both our doors were melted and broken without good working heat and they condemned our entire apartment building. Saw that it’s now being rented again. Do not rent from her.

Oh...my god. That's horrible! I'm sorry you had to go through this nightmare situation. I'm so glad we didn't end up in a lease with her.

Came here to say this. I was in this same house on a different floor. I had to get in contact with a lawyer to get out of the lease when there was snow blowing into our apartment after the fire. She tried to make us sign a document basically saying that we wouldn't go after her for damages and when I refused to sign it, she tried to charge us around $6000 dollars for moving out. The apartment was unlivable and we had to find other lodgings, which she should have paid for, according to the law. The thing that was my saving grace in this situation was having renter's insurance.

Woah!! That is so awful--I can't believe she tried to charge you 6k to move out of a severely damaged apartment. Sorry this happened to you, and I'm glad you had renter's insurance (also, a good reminder for me to sign up for that right now!)

I rented this apartment right after you. Yup, she said it was cigarettes that burned down the back hallway LMAO. Crazy I'm learning what really happened on Reddit.
