where to find locally made souvenirs

I'll be passing through Providence for a vacation later this month. Going to visit the Aethanrum and Lovecraft's grave marker. But I wanted to pick up souvenirs that are locally made. Any good recommendations on where to go?

Not in pvd but take the ride down to Charlestown. Go to the umbrella factory there's a shop there run by a Narragansett guy who makes jewelry out of quahog shells. One of the most interesting people you'll meet in Rhode Island. I think there was a documentary about him. I'll see if I can find it.

edit the guy's name is Allen Hazard and the shop is the Purple Shell. use your fav search engine there's an article about him and the shop. and a utube video on ri pbs. and another on Insider utube channel.

it seems there's always that rumor lol. as far as I know, they're not closing. I think the business sold a few years ago I can't imagine that place ever closing!

Last time I was down there in August, the man who runs the greenhouse told us that he was retiring, but there was no sign that the rest of the place was closing.
