Hey neighbors, looking for the best place to buy whiskey in the greater PVD area. Looking a wide selection and not insane costs. Any body have some hidden gems of liquor stores?

Bottles and Nikki’s are the best in Providence that I know of. Really good selection at both places, though Bottles is probably a bit pricier since it’s over by Wayland Square.

Does anyone know what Bottles' membership does?

You get $25 gift card for every $500 you spend. So if its your regular store worth signing up.

Joyal's Liquors in West Warwick has a great whisky selection (especially bourbon). Buying good whisky these days is not for the faint of heart. Prices are crazy right now.

I second this suggestion. Great selection.

Get the blue velvet bourbon from isco

I do not recommend this. I bought it because it’s local and heard it was good.

It’s expensive and frankly not as good as bottles costing significantly less. Love to try local stuff, but paying more for poor bourbon isn’t worth it.

I thought it it was great! And it was only Like $27 a bottle. Pretty inexpensive and great tasting bourbon

I got charged double that when I bought a bottle... Did I get charged twice?

I don't think the climate suits making bourbon tbh

Town wine and spirits has a great selection of whisky, Clift's in Riverside had been building a good collection that's cheaper than expected if a little narrower than summer places

Bottles has very fair prices on their whiskey and a surprisingly great selection. Their sister business is The East End on Wickenden and they have hundreds of whiskies from all around the world. Great spot to try before you buy.

Drive up to Norfolk wine and spirits near Patriot place; best selection of independent bottlings of scotch in the northeast

I would counter that Julio's in Westboro as the best selection of private barrel whisky - both Bourbon and Single Malts, as well as Tequilas, and Rums.

Bottles is my go to Providence pick. Joyals has a good selection but their prices aren't as good as they used to be, and it's a bit of a schlep from Providence.

It's not the cheapest place but check out Eno on Westminster. They have a big selection and they have things you won't find anywhere else, and they're very knowledgeable, they can talk about almost anything they have on their shelves.

I hate to say it, but you will find better prices online. I don’t know what it is that people need to jack up the price of a $70 bottle of pappy to $300, I guess there are those that will pay it.

How are you getting alcohol delivered to you from online? There is an ongoing lawsuit regarding the inability to do this: Anvar v Tanner

Remarkable_Money_369 t1_itgkl29 wrote

I don’t know about the lawsuit. But online retailers will ship to RI. I have had 4 different bottles of bourbon mailed to me that I bought online.

Most recently I had a bottle of Starward delivered via FedEx (with free promotional shipping). Had to sign for it, but that was the only caveat.
