I’m moving to Providence in a couple months and have been trying to get back into DnD after a long hiatus. I’ve seen that Providence has a few card/game stores, but was wondering if there is any that run DnD sessions, or even if there’s a place I can find players or a session to join.

Just curious about how much “nerd culture” (video games, card games, etc) in general exists in Providence.

Update: Thanks y’all for the recommendations!

Untapped Games has tons of supplies, and I know Foolproof brewery does weekly DnD but I'm sure there are others too

Another +1 for Untapped Games. I recently went there to get the MTGx40k commander decks and everyone was super chill, staff and players alike.

Will do once I move and find others to play with! I suppose DnD is something you usually play with an existing group of friends but it also seems like a good way to meet others.

I know there’s a group in Pawtucket, my sister goes to it. I’ll ask for the name Edit. Pretty sure it’s Untapped, someone already mentioned it

Throwing another hat in the ring for Untapped. Haven't been in a while, but they were always amazing, especially to newcomers. When I first got into DnD, I went to a place down in Warren, and they were total assholes.

I think there is a meetup group for this.

I’d been considering trying to start some sort of social group centered around table top gaming (though I do play and DM D&D 5e specifically too).

Problem is I have small kids and not a lot of flexibility to go places right now. Would there be interest in starting a Discord community and maybe events and stuff later on if we get good interest?

Question about that.

I've always wanted to be part of the untapped community but it seems so pricey. I fully understand they need money to run but am I missing something? Are there specials or cheap/free casual events?

Wasn't there a games and comics place on the East Side? Off of Brook Street near Wickenden maybe?
