Hey all-

We've found some of our best community members through this subreddit (hi) so wanted to let y'all know that Kismet Improv has got another round of intro classes starting this Sunday, 11/6. If you think that you're looking for a fun performance outlet to meet new pals and goof around, improv might be for you! We also have a free drop-in every Saturday night at 6:30 p.m.

We've also opened up our theater and practice room for rentals, so if you're working on a performance project and need a place to practice, you can now book that directly through our website.

I appreciate that nowhere in this did you mention any humor in relation to improv.

Hey hey! I’m not sure if this is a good faith comment or not but I’ll respond like it is.

Kismet is a comedy theater, and our shows are all comedy shows. Our higher-level classes are focused on developing some of the humor and comedy skills to make these happen!

Our fundamentals classes focus on the basic skills needed to get you there - thinking on your feet, listening, supporting each others choices. These are all foundational for comedy, but are skills that everyone has and anyone can develop, regardless of whether you are funny or want to be funny. In these classes, you’re often encouraged to not even think or worry about being funny, because it gets in the way of practicing these critical skills. And - even more so, often the people who come into these classes thinking they don’t have any comedic chops end up being the most hilarious comedians down the line.
