Roger Williams Park has all these plus some spectacular trees: the greenhouses, especially in February when the citrus trees are in bloom. The Natural History Museum. The Planetarium. The Zoo. In summer, the paddle boats. In June the rose garden.

Stroll then length of Benefit St. amazing architecture from Colonial to Modern. Please visit the RISD museum-which is free on Sundays. The Atheneum is a must as well they have original Audobon prints . I would also strongly recommend the Providence River Boat Company. They have all kinds of tours and you really haven’t seen PVD til you’ve seen it from beneath street level

Go to Crossroads and the area near there on Broad St as a place you don't want to end up.

Pick a direction to walk from your front door and explore your surroundings. Get familiar with your neighbors and let them see you. Look for the nearest places to shop, eat, hang out. Walk in and check them out. In even the least famous neighborhoods you will see funky or splendid old houses, trees, gardens, animals, weird miscellaneous creative stuff. Repeat the process. When you find some local favorite sights and places you can share them here!
