Does anyone know of any low-key (looking for something fun and not intimidating) community choirs/singing groups in Providence-- or nearby-- open to new folks joining?

It's a one-time event, but look up West End Caroling in Providence. It was canceled by COVID, but hopefully will return this year. It's fun, even if you're not a great singer!

I've worked with RPM Voices a few times and everybody involved is really warm and talented and the music selections are always pretty great and diverse. The repertoire skews more traditional gospel which you may or may not be into. They have a Christmas concert coming up on December 3rd you may want to check out. https://www.rpmvoices.com/

There are some sacred harp singing groups on the east side, not sure if they have a full time location post-pandemic but they coordinate via an email list. DM me if interested and I can put you in touch. (Super low key and super easy to participate.)

The Providence Singers have a concert tomorrow (Sunday) if you want to see what we’re like! Performing Haydn’s Creation at 1pm at Grace Episcopal Church on Westminster! Tickets on our website :)

First Unitarian on the east side has an open choir. You practice an hour before the service and then sing in the service. Sunday mornings.

Definitely check out the Providence Singers. I joined this year and it’s been a great experience.
