Hi folks.

I'm new to the area. Been living here since beginning of September. I was wondering if this sub, or if others are interested in a meetup?

I think it would be nice to get the community together for a drink/pool/whatever when a time is convenient for us all?

There are a lot of tight-knit groups of locals around here. It’s a bit difficult to find friends compared to where I moved from, but still doable by going out to community events.

Been itching to try out the Arcade bar downtown. I’m garbage at pool, otherwise I’d be in.

I highly recommend. I chat people up every time I go but I'm from the next state over

Any particular days of the week you find to be the best for someone going solo?

To the OP, I forgot to mention the Providence skate rink will be starting up ice bumper cars on the weekends soon. I haven’t been yet, but I’m looking forward to going. They give ice skating lessons too.

There’s a beer club that meets every 1st and 3rd Friday in a month at a different brewery. We’re hitting up Narragansett in Providence at 7pm tomorrow so you should totally join if you’re a beer fan!

What’s the club name and how do you all communicate? I’m interested!

It’s just called RI beer club and they typically post the day of here on Reddit or on Instagram earlier in the week. Next one should be this upcoming Friday so they’ll probably post on Instagram on Tuesday

My fiancée and I live in the west end. Our best friend moved to Portland Maine a few weeks ago and we have yet to fill the void. I love FreePlay and pool, though I am also trash. I can’t drink on account of I am recovering from a liver transplant I received three weeks ago. But once I healthy and less immuno-compromised I would love to get out and meet new people!

I live right near Dexter Park. We have a dog and walk her through the park and take her to the Bell Street Dog Park. I also play piano and guitar and would be wicked into playing music with folks if there are any musicians.

I go to the dog park practically daily! What kind of dog do you have? Will look out for you and say hi! Mine is a strawberry colored beagle / pit mix : )

Awesome!

She is a wheaten terrier named Finch, and my name is Jack. She is fluffy and blond with a short tail. Might be a while until I am back there, but we will keep our eyes peeled for you!

Hey, I'd be down. Freeplay is a great spot if you like a drink and classic arcade games. You only pay a fee to enter, you don't pay to play any of the games :-) And the fee is CHEAP

Hi,

We (my wife and I) moved here at the end of September, and would also be interested in meeting up and meeting new people. We are free Monday through Friday anytime after 5pm. Weekends are always open as we work Monday - Friday.

Looking forward to meeting newbies and locals.

Use the Meetup app. Lots of activities in the providence area usually, and if not you can just create one.

Don’t forget the local libraries.

There are language learning clubs, sewing clubs, knitting clubs, 3D printing and other maker space clubs, and the libraries host movies at various locations.

When you say pool, you talking billiards? I'm a snooker player myself, but no one in Providence, or all of Rhode Island has it. Bo's Billiards in Warwick is a nice place. Bowling allies are a good meet up place, if you're into it. I'm a duckpin bowler. Used to frequent Mac's Bowlaway in West Warwick. If you're a true night owl, try Haven Brothers by City Hall in Providence. You'll meet with very interesting people. The food is excellent, too. Highly recommend. 👍🏻😎
