My partner and I would love to find dim sum, authentic Chinese food, and specifically authentic Sichuan cuisine. In Providence is great but surrounding areas work too.

Chengdu taste is my top recommendation. Jahunger on wickenden also has some good sichuan style dishes.
Chong Qing in East Providence. Went today and it’s super good Sichuan! No dim sum though :(
Yama Fuji on North Main
Chengdu taste is your best bet, but I lived in China for ten years and ate many a meal and must say that Chengdu taste was a let down. Too salty or too sweet. Balance was lacking in almost every dish I ordered. Bummer!
Will second Chengdu Taste; hands down the best place I've had in Providence
This is the way.
King's Garden in Cranston, Silver Crystal in West Warwick, Golden Chopsticks in Westerly and Golden Palace in Uncasville CT all have some Dim Sum offerings.
Damn… ever tried Chong Qing House in east providence? I wonder how it compares. The sichuan dishes I’ve had there in the past were really good.
Asia grille in Lincoln. Been ordering there for 15 years never disappoints
Chegdu Taste
Kings Garden
Was not impressed by Chengdu Taste when I was there last, though it may be the best Chinese in PVD. I hate to say it, but China Town in Boston is where you really want to go
Yeah, every other answer is wrong. Ma Po Tofu w/ Minced Pork from Cheng du is always the answer.
Dim Sum is a trip to Boston. Pretty good. In Quincy also
Same experience for me. I'm originally from the west coast where we had amazing Chinese food places. Places full of Chinese people, and I couldn't read the menu. I will never forget that mashed eggplant. Chengdu is no where close
Oh yeah - I forgot about Jahunger. Amazing Uyghur cuisine 🤤
I haven’t but I’ll put it on my list. :)
Was recommended Chengdu Taste but the one time I went the staff tried to accuse me of hitting one of their cars…. A giant dent in theirs without a scratch on mine. Yeah, won’t be back.
Some of the best Chinese I’ve ever had, but you have to order the right things.
Yama Fuji on north main St, ask for the authentic Chinese menu.
Jahunger is actually Uyghur, though modern day Uyghur cuisines have seen heavy influence from other Chinese styles, especially sichuan, which were brought there by the XPCC in the 40s and 50s.
I second Chồng Quing for great Sichuan
That’s interesting! It’s gotta be the only Uyghur restaurant I’ve heard of.
Chengdu Taste is great food, but they definitely aren’t the nicest people
Seconded Jahunger, good fresh food. Their ding ding noodles is really good.
I second this! Great authentic Chinese food
I would recommend Chong Qing house, I’m Asian who grew up with native Chinese parents and the food there is very authentic. Not your typical Chinese takeout
Do they have good chicken wings and pork fried rice
Golden Chopstix in Westerly. Really. I know it's not near Providence, but I had to recommend it.
I'd say gourmet house in providence or just go to china town stop in one of the bakeries and grab a coconut bread loaf and a whole roast duck🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺
Silver Crystal is my go to for dim sum. Always delicious!
This post is about authentic Chinese food not American food.
I have only gotten takeout once but the couple sichuan dishes I got were great.
Not really authentic
This is the way!
Chong Qing in East Providence is better than Chengdu . Cleaner flavors, less greasy, deliciously spicy (I'm Chinese American and my dad's side of the family is from that area in China).
Completely agree with this Chong Qing recommendation!
I came here to say this. SO SO GOOD.
Kings Garden for dim sum! I switched from chengdu to chongquing house in E Prov for sichuan though.
I really like Chinatown on Thayer. It’s not authentic, but really tasty.
Jade tree house on at wells is my go to since I moved from nyc!
>chongquing house
I need to check this place out. How are the prices & portions?
Bo’s Sichuan off Mass Pike Alston MA outstanding.
Definitely not cheap like your typical Chinese takeout but I think it’s worth it. Portions are good, my gf and I typically get 2 dishes and that paired with rice it’s enough for dinner and we always end up having leftovers too
Kings Garden in Rolfe Square in Cranston.

Chengdu Taste is the recommendation du jour for this.
