Adding to check in w NEMBA. Go on a PVD Bike Jam you'll make friends. Where are you looking to live, rents vary drastically

Will definitely check out PVD bike jam, thank you!

I'm not dead set on an area. I will be up next week to explore neighborhoods, but am very flexible. Prefer to be within 10 minutes of downtown by car.

Do you have any neighborhoods that you would personally completely avoid?

I’m always looking for more people to ride with! The two most popular areas (within ~20 min of Providence) are Lincoln Woods and Big River. I mostly ride Lincoln Woods, there’s some XC stuff, but the bulk of it is some really awesome enduro style trails with a fire road climb. I’m not as familiar with big river, but there’s some good stuff there too.

Ride4beers on Strava has weekly rides on Friday night. RINEMBA has rides Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday nights. Join Intergalactic MTB on Facebook for Wednesday night rides. Participate in a few of those group rides and you’ll meet plenty of people. Also, it’s hunting season so you have to wear 200 square inches of blaze orange everywhere but Lincoln woods.

No problem, I also forgot to mention the RI Mountain Biking facebook group is where all the RINEMBA rides get posted.

NEMBA seems cool. Big River and Arcadia have lots of trails.

What kind of housing are you looking for? For that budget you could get a nice one-bedroom on the East Side, parts of which are very walkable to downtown. The rental housing stock in PVD is mostly 2- and 3-family homes. There was a recent post similar to this one; I'd search the sub if you haven't already.

Not picky on housing type. Was hoping for a one bedroom with in unit laundry. I will look on the east side!

I saw that previous post, will follow up with those comments and see if anyone has anything. Thank you!
